We are delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the final conference of the second edition of the Jean Monnet Chair Promoting Public Awareness on Enlargement, EU Values and the Western Balkans’ Accession” (EUVALWEB), which will take place on May 30, 2024, at the Institute of Criminological and Sociological Research of Belgrade (Serbia). 
Our goal is to bring together stakeholders from academia, practice, and politics to discuss the most recent trends in justice and home affairs cooperation for the security of EU Member States and acceding States.
Join us at the conference and find out about the power of collaboration and idea co-creation. Discover how various stakeholders, academics, and policymakers can collaborate to promote the EU integration process, resulting in exponential value. Contribute to the ongoing discussion about Member States’ adherence to EU fundamentals, particularly with regard to police and judicial cooperation, and help shape the EU’s future.

II Interuniversitary Seminar on the European Union – November 2023 & May 2024

University  “Miguel Hernández” of Elche (Spain)

We would like to bring your attention towards “The Interuniversitary Seminar on the European Union“, organized by the prestigious Jean Monnet Chair Strengthening the European Union by reinforcing its values (ReinforcEU), as part of the Specialized Seminars of the Ph.D. Program in Social and Legal Sciences of the Miguel Hernández University and funded by the European Union.

The Chair has ReinforcEU indeed convened a open call for those interested to take part to the aforementioned Seminar, targeting Ph.D students in particular. The event will take place in late-November 2023 as well as May 2024 and will cover the tematic axes of “The Values of the European Union“.

In particular, Prof. Teresa Russo, EUVALWEB Chair Holder, stands as a Member of the Scientific Committee of such scientific initiative.

Interuniversitary Seminar on the European Union – The Values of the European Union, 14 March and 5 May 2023

The “Interuniversitary Seminar on the European Union” – organized by the Jean Monnet Chair Strengthening the European Union by reinforcing its values (ReinforcEU), with Prof. Elena Crespo Navarro as Chair Holder – is part of the Specialized Seminars of the Ph.D. Program in Social and Legal Sciences of the University  “Miguel Hernández” of Elche (Spain) and funded by the European Union.

The event is convened in collaboration with the Jean Monnet Chair “Promoting Public Awareness on Enlargement Policy, EU Values and the Western Balkans’ Accession” (EUVALWEB) from the University of Salerno (Italy), the Jean Monnet Chair “Reinforcing EU responsible global leadership: promoting human rights and democracy through solidarity for a rules-based multilateral world” (ProSoEULaw Abroad) from the University of Pisa (Italy), as well as Institudo Universitario de Investigaciòn en Estudios Latinoamericanos IELAT, University of Alcalá (Spain), Universidad Militar de Nueva Granada (Colombia).

Object: Candidates who are enrolled to the UMH may submit communications on the central theme of the Seminar “The Values of the European Union”, from the perspective of any of the topics linked to the lines of research covered by the Ph.D. Program in Social and Legal Sciences: Law and Justice, Economics and Business, Communication, Journalism and Society. The participants will be able to share an oral presentation at one of the two events, respectively scheduled for 14 March 2023 and 5 May 2023. The participants are also permitted to send their papers for a subsequent publication.

Target participants: the Seminar is open to the participation of Ph.D. students from both Spanish and international universities, especially from Italy and Latin America.

Language: both the oral presentations of the papers and the subsequent publication, if applicable, may be made in Spanish, English or Italian.

Rights and Freedoms to Be Protected in Post-Modern Society, 15 December 2022

On 15 December 2022, the University of Oradea (Romania) hosted an International online Conference of Bachelor, Master and PhD Students in Law entitled “Rights and Freedoms to Be Protected in Post-Modern Society”, which involved as co-organizers together with the Department of Legal Sciences, University of Salerno, several other Universities, that is: Faculty of Law, University of Debrecen, Hungary; Faculty of Law, University of Miskolc, Hungary; Faculty of Law, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukraine; Department of Law, University of Palermo, Italy; Faculty of Law and Politics, University of Reims Champagnne-Ardenne, France; Institute of Legal Studies, University of Rzeszow, Poland; Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, University of Szeged, Hungary.
