On Tuesday 17 April 2024, starting at 8:30 A.M, at the Intrarea Blaj 1, Sector 1 of the Italian International School “Aldo Moro” of Bucharest, Romania, a Mock Trial on the the subject of sextortion will take place, in the framework of the “‘A Network of Security’ in Europe” project. The latter is the result of an ambitious cooperation between the Jean Monnet Chair EUVALWEB with the National Association of Magistrates – Salerno District Section, the Italian Postal Police, the Bar Association of Salerno and the Giffoni Experience Autonomous Body.
The event will be first introduced by the welcoming speeches of Prof. Tina Savoi (School Principal), Prof. Valeria Prundeanu (Highschool Coordinator ), Prof. Teresa Russo (University of Salerno, EUVALWEB Chair Holder), Dr. Alessandro Di Vico (Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Salerno, Delegate of the ANM Salerno Council), Dr. Roberta Manzo (Deputy Comm. of the Italian State Police), Dr. Vincenzo Tamarindo (Responsible for Social, Cultural and Press Affairs, Embassy of Italy in Bucharest), Dr. Jacopo Gubitosi (General Director Giffoni Film Festival) and Dr. Elena Scisci (Artistic Direction Giffoni Film Festival).
Later, the Mock Trial will take place with Dr. Pietro Giocoli (Judge at the Court of Appeal of Salerno, as judge), Dr. Gianluca Caputo (Deputy Prosecutor at the Court of Nocera Inferiore, as Public prosecutor), Dr. Roberta Manzo (Deputy Italian State Police Commissioner as the witness, i.e. police offer responsible for the investigations), Dr. Marco Ciullo (Italian State Police Detective, as the Public order and security officer), Mr. Vincenzo Capone (Italian State Police Superintendent, as the accused) and Dr. Paola Ianni (Lawyer and Vice-President of the Salerno Bar Association Council, as Defence attorney).
A final debate, open to the audience, will conclude the event.
In the afternoon of the same day – h. 1:00 P.M., the Prosecutor’s General Office at the High Court of Cassation and Justice (POHCCJ)– placed in Bd Libertății, no 12, Sector 4, Bucharest, Romania – will host the international conference “The Status of Criminal Judicial Cooperation between Italy and Romania: Problems and Suggestions”.
The Conference, with the participation of H.E. Mr. Alfredo Durante Mangoni (Ambassador of Italy in Bucharest) and under the coordination of Dr. Fulvio Baldi (Deputy General Prosecutor at the Italian Court of Cassation, Member of the EUVALWEB Legal Observatory) is finalized, in a bilateral set-up, to the exchange of best practices and skills in the field of criminal judicial cooperation between operators.
