Our May 28th visit to the Italian Embassy in Skopje and the meeting with H.E. Mr. Amb. Paolo Palminteri gave us the opportunity to discuss the overall state of affairs in Macedonia and the Western Balkans region and to organise the significant event scheduled for May 29th, 2025.

By coordinating this initiative with the Italian postal police, we were able to address the cybersecurity issue in North Macedonia and Italy and to promote education in the younger generation about social media ethics.
In addition to launching important messages of solidarity to combat cyberbullying in particular, the two short films, which were edited by students from the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Goce Delcev University, Stip, and the “Slavco Stojmenski” High School, demonstrated how the youngest feel the problem.
A thorough debate has allowed the younger generation and institutionalists to confront the issues facing our digital society. This confrontation has led to a deeper understanding of the ethical implications of technology, as well as the importance of fostering digital literacy among young people.

Sincere gratitude is extended to H.E. Mr. Amb. Paolo Palminteri for his significant role in making the initiative a success.

The initiative received extensive coverage in the local media and through the Italian Embassy channels: https://www.giornalediplomatico.it/macedonia-n-amb-palminteri-donati-40-volumi-italiani-a-universita.htm

The third edition of the EUVALWEB Jean Monnet Chair Final Conference, with the title “Quo Vadis EU Security? A Constitutional Perspective on Migration, Transnational Crime, Fundamental Rights and Values” held on May 27, 2025, at Goce Delcev University in Stip, North Macedonia, offered a chance to talk with scholars, legal professionals, practitioners, and stakeholders about the issues surrounding national law’s adaptation to the Union JHA acquis and what should be changed or implemented.

In her keynote address, Mirjana Lazarova Trajkovska, Ph.D., a judge on the Supreme Court of North Macedonia, discussed the European Court of Human Rights’ case law on the relationship between migration and the fight against transnational crime in accordance with human rights. She also emphasised the Macedonian courts’ efforts to address an issue that impacts the region. Many issues with respect for human rights are also raised by the solutions found, such as the 2023 Italy-Albania Protocol on Migration, which also affects the Albanian constitutional order.

These and many other topics are covered in a book that will soon be published by the Goce Delcev University of Stip and distributed widely.
A special thank you to Professors Olga Koshevaliska, Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska, and Elena Maksimova for their invaluable assistance in organising the Conference, as well as Prof. Niuton Mulleti of EPOKA University of Tirana.
