The EUVALWEB Chair Holder, Prof. Teresa Russo, is more than pleased with the outcome of the workshopThe EU in Its International Institutional Relationships‘, held on December 4, 2023, at the University of Salerno.

The workshop offered both national and Erasmus students of the International Organisation course (DSG UNISA) the opportunity to present their work on the relations of their chosen international organisation with the EU.
We believe that the response of the students was amazing, as they showed initiative, critical sense, and resourcefulness to carry out the assigned task!

The findings of the international conference on ‘Cooperation for the Protection of Human Rights in the Context of Migration and Asylum in the EU‘, which took place on December 1, 2023, as part of the EUVALWEB Legal Clinic, ‘EU Cooperation in Justice and Home Affairs: Knowledge’, are greatly valued!

Despite the intricate nature of the topic, the speakers offered insightful and comprehensive talks about the different weaknesses in the defence of migrant rights. The conference also adopted an interdisciplinary approach, integrating criminal procedure law, international law, European Union law, national and international criminal law, and migration law before concluding with constitutional law and assurances of legal certainty for the protection of migrant rights.

EUVALWEB presents its second workshop, convened for December 4, 2023, at the University of Salerno, ‘Castellano’ Hall, 10:30 AM.

Indeed, workshops are a key activity of the EUVALWEB chair, being a critical testing ground for students as well as a tangible result of the knowledge they have acquired.

In particular, following the training activities carried out as part of the International Organisation course of the Department of Legal Sciences (UNISA) and under the coordination of the EUVALWEB Chair Holder, Prof. Teresa Russo, the students will be called upon, in their scientific investigation, to outline the relationship between some international organisations and bodies and the European Union.

Today’s seminars covered important aspects of relationships between the Member and Acceding States and the European Union within the framework of international, European, and constitutional-national law.

The first seminar by Professor Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska highlighted the difficulties faced by North Macedonia in acquiring membership in the United Nations, NATO, and now the European Union.

The second seminar, on the other hand, by Prof. Marieta Safta gave an insight into the Romanian constitutional system in general and, in particular, the changes that took place in order to become a member of the European Union, as well as the difficult dialogue between the Romanian Constitutional Court in affirming the concept of national identity and the Court of Justice in safeguarding the primacy of EU law.

A huge thank you to the two brilliant professors for the high scientific contribution of their lectures.
