In her seminar, Dr. Francesca Iervolino captivated the audience by elucidating the pragmatic implementation of European and Italian legislation concerning international protection.
Her professional background enabled to draw attention to the current challenges faced by pratictioners in defending the rights of migrants. Discussions with the students included the need to pass laws other than those currently being passed in the European Union.
We express our gratitude for her priceless input!

The scientific outcomes of our workshop on “European Investigation Order (EIO) and the Acquisition of ‘Communications’. Analysis of Italian and European Case Law” on March 21, 2024, have truly satisfied us.
In the light of European law and Court of Justice case law, it enabled us to make sense of the various investigative activities allowed by the Italian order, as well as the concepts of data and communications in general.
It was feasible to highlight the important concerns from the perspectives of judges and lawyers, as well as students and civil society representatives, during the speakers’ and other participants’ discussions.
We appreciate our knowledgeable speakers!

The workshop’s goal will be to address the contentious and current issue of acquiring digital communications data in the context of an EIO. The methodology will include an examination of some recent rulings of the Italian Court of Cassation, which, in light of conflicting arrests on the subject, have resulted in a referral to the United Sections (Cass., Sez. The EUVALWEB Chair Holder, Prof. Teresa Russo, is more than pleased with the outcome of the workshop ‘The EU in Its International Institutional Relationships‘, held on December 4, 2023, at the University of Salerno.
The workshop offered both national and Erasmus students of the International Organisation course (DSG UNISA) the opportunity to present their work on the relations of their chosen international organisation with the EU.
We believe that the response of the students was amazing, as they showed initiative, critical sense, and resourcefulness to carry out the assigned task!

The findings of the international conference on ‘Cooperation for the Protection of Human Rights in the Context of Migration and Asylum in the EU‘, which took place on December 1, 2023, as part of the EUVALWEB Legal Clinic, ‘EU Cooperation in Justice and Home Affairs: Knowledge’, are greatly valued!
Despite the intricate nature of the topic, the speakers offered insightful and comprehensive talks about the different weaknesses in the defence of migrant rights. The conference also adopted an interdisciplinary approach, integrating criminal procedure law, international law, European Union law, national and international criminal law, and migration law before concluding with constitutional law and assurances of legal certainty for the protection of migrant rights.
